Hamlet - Youth Entry

This abridged version of Shakespeare's most-quoted play was rehearsed in just seven weeks. It utilised multiple projection screens, a 2m high gantry and practical lighting. All-in-all a very ambitious production and the cast's hard work most definitely paid off - the terrific adjudication was justly deserved.

Adjudicator's Comments

It all came together beautifully and it was well thought out by the director.

I thought the set was excellent... clever use of props... I loved the costumes. So it all visually worked very, very well.

Very effective use of the stage by the director.

Every single one of you was acting all the time. It wasn’t a distraction, it was a credit to you as a young company for your concentration and your focus. Very well done indeed.

An excellent example of a young team working together as a company, worked so well together, it was confident all the way through and excellent interaction as a team of actors and certainly had an impact on the audience so well done and thank you.
